Helen J. “Jodie” German

Helen J. “Jodie” German, 62, of Galesburg, died at 12:38 p.m. Monday, March 2, 2015 in Seminary Manor.

She was born November 28, 1952 in Avon the daughter of Gerald H. and Betty (Etherton) Poynor.  She married David H. German on December 30, 1972 in Galesburg.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, David; two daughters, Candi (and Eric) Pool of Avon and Heidi (and fiancé, Jeremy Pulliam) German of Galesburg; four grandchildren, Cody Jones, Caity Jones, Brianna Pool, and Madison Pool; and a brother, Bucky Poynor of Galesburg.  She was preceded in death by her father, mother, and step mother, Bobbie Poynor.

Jodie worked for the Admiral Corporation and was a lunchroom supervisor for Galesburg School District.  Most recently, she worked as a home health care provider, which she truly enjoyed.  She graduated from Knoxville High School.  Jodie was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2015 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel.  Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Bethel Baptist Church.  Cremation will be accorded following the funeral service.  Memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
