Jo Ann (Fuller) Hoerner

Mrs. Jo Ann (Fuller) Hoerner, 77, of Good Hope, IL passed away at 6:15 p.m. on Sunday December 20th, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Jo Ann was born on October 17th, 1938 in Central City, Iowa. 

Surviving are children Dennis (Jane) Hoerner, Kathi (Jim) Lutrell and Greg (Beth) Hoerner; Daughter in Law Donna Hoerner; Grandchildren Kristina, Brittany, Megan, Lucas, Broderick, Cole and Alissa. Brothers; Robert, Wayne, Larry and Terry. Sister; Linda and several Nieces and Nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Harry J. Hoerner, son Timothy John Hoerner, Grandson Cameron Lee Willey; Sister Jean (Fuller) Parmenter and mother Nelle Fuller.

Jo Ann married the love of her life, Harry Hoerner, June 30, 1957. They lived in several states while Harry was acquiring his teaching degree and accumulated many lifelong friends. Jo Ann loved spending time with family. She was a competitive game player and loved her bridge games.

Jo Ann kept busy in her life working several different jobs, while raising four children and assisting Harry with his educational pursuits.

Jo Ann was over a 20 year survivor of Breast Cancer and worked closely with the American Cancer Societies Reach To Recovery program for Breast Cancer. Helping people cope with their breast cancer experiences.

Jo Ann and Harry enjoyed many travels within the US and abroad. The highlight being a 50th wedding anniversary celebrated with their children and their spouses to Alaska in 2007.

Jo Ann considered everyone a friend and knew no strangers. She was always willing to help those in need be they friends or strangers.

A visitation and celebration of life will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., with services following, Tuesday December 29, 2015 at the Corman Memorial Home in Roseville, Il. Cremation rights have been accorded.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials may be given to MDH Hospice, 525 E. Grant Street, Macomb, Il 61455, American Cancer Societies Reach to Recovery Program, McDonough County Humane Shelter or Rossi House, Iowa City Hospital.
