He was born October 29, 1945 in Fort Madison, Iowa the son of Ellsworth Warner and Colletta Bernice McDonald Pennington. He married Sandra Mason on July 17, 1975. He later married Barbara Brasche.
Robert is survived by two sons, Evert Swanson of Galesburg and Robert (and Ellen) Van Natta of Colchester, Illinois; two daughters, LaDawn Johnson of Abingdon, Illinois and Lisa (and Jim) Nader of Farmington, Illinois,; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Robert worked as a taxi driver for several years. He graduated from high school in Ft. Madison and had attended Carl Sandburg College. He was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Society.
Private graveside service is scheduled for December 23, 2015 in Holeman-Olive Cemetery, near Avon, Illinois. There will be a celebration of Robert’s life at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2015, at Mary Allen West Towers. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
