Kelly Jean Howard

Kelly Jean Howard, 57, of Galesburg, died at 5:52 p.m. Monday, March 21, 2016 in OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

She was born January 15, 1959 in Chicago, the daughter of John L. and Marilyn M. (Corlett) Brennan.  She married Michael L. Howard on April 29, 1976 in Galesburg.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Michael; a son, Jeremy (and Camille) Howard of Edwards, Illinois; her father, John Brennan of Galesburg; three granddaughters, Elizabeth, Mackenzie, and Isabelle; three brothers, Michael Brennan and John Brennan, both of Galesburg and Kevin Brennan of Buffalo Grove, Illinois; three sisters, Kathy (and Steve Mendonsa) Johnson and Laura (and Rob) Fischer, both of Galesburg and Jackie (and Nick) Blake of Hawthorn Woods, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Marilyn Brennan and her grandmother, Elfreda Corlett.

Kelly had worked as a beautician for 15 years, at Nova Cable for 12 years, and most recently at United Equity Credit Union.  Kelly attended St. Joseph Academy and Costa before graduating from Galesburg High School.  She earned her cosmetology degree from Carl Sandburg College.  Kelly’s family and granddaughters were her main priority.  She enjoyed doing crafts with her granddaughters.

Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 25, 2016 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel.  Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the chapel with Rev. Deus dedit-Byabato officiating.  Cremation will be accorded following the funeral with private family burial.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
