Joseph Henry

Joseph Henry, 75, of Beardstown, IL, formerly of the Monmouth area passed away at 10:25 p.m., Friday, August 19, 2016 at Heritage Manor in Beardstown, IL. 

Joe was born May 25, 1941 in Monmouth, IL the son of Clarence Jr. and Naomi (Norville) Henry.  He was raised and educated in Kirkwood, graduating from Kirkwood High School in 1959.

Joe worked at Wilson Foods in Monmouth for over 20 years before working at the Reelfoot Packing Company in Union City, TN, most recently working at the Excel Meat Packing in Beardstown.

He enjoyed fishing and NASCAR.

Survivors include his son Jeff (Danielle) Henry of Milan, IL; daughter, Shelley (Brian) Perkins of Alexis, IL; grandchildren, TJ, Kylie, Mattie, Nate and Mya Henry, Meghan & Bridget Perkins; brothers, Mike (Mindy) Henry of Biggsville, IL and Butch (Dorothy) Henry of Pontiac, IL; sister in law, Ellen Henry of Ft. Meyers, FL; dear friend, Nellie Dennison of Kirkwood, IL; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Patrick Henry and sister, Sandra Fisher  

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 25, 2016 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory.  Burial will be in Center Grove Cemetery, Kirkwood. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at the funeral home where his family will be present from 5:00-7:00 p.m.  Memorials may be given the St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
