Rebecca “Beckey” Lynn
Ludwick, 62, of Abingdon, died peacefully in her sleep Sunday, August
21, 2016.
She was born December 1,
1953, in Galesburg, the daughter of Kenneth and Shirley (Olson)
Roberson.
Beckey graduated from Carl
Sandburg College with a degree in Law Enforcement. She was employed
first by the East Galesburg Police Department before leaving for Las
Vegas. While in Las Vegas, she was employed as a security guard at
the Palace Station Casino. In 2000, she married Dale E. Ludwick at
the Nellis AFB Chapel. Soon after, the couple returned to the
Galesburg area before settling in Abingdon.
She is survived by her
husband; one brother, Daniel Roberson of Crossville, Tennessee; one
sister, Patty (and Earl) Stuckey of Neponset, Illinois; two sons,
Angelo (and Hope) Tipton of London Mills, Illinois and Jerimiah (and
Angi) Tipton of Casper, Wyoming and Spencerville, Maryland. The
loves of her life included four granddaughters and two great
granddaughters.
Beckey had a passion for
camping and fishing, and she absolutely loved to decorate the house
for special holidays.
Her husband, Dale, was the
love of her life and they, as a couple, were inseparable. A
family-oriented person, she would give her last dollar to help them
out. While in Las Vegas, she volunteered for the International
Church of Las Vegas to prepare food for the homeless, enough to feed
2000 people. She often laughed about having to clean and dice 50
pounds of onions at a time.
In accordance with her
desires, there will be no formal service, as she wished to have her
body donated to science. She would be pleased to have friends donate
to the American Cancer Society. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral
Directors and Cremation Services of Abingdon is handling arrangements
for the family. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
