Connie Jo McDorman

Connie Jo McDorman, 56, Galesburg, died at 4:52 pm Sunday, September 11, 2016 in OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg.

She was born February 11, 1960 in Galesburg the daughter of William and Kathyrn Hoffman Berry. She married Woodrow “Woody” Wilson McDorman on September 29, 1984 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on November 12, 2004.

She is survived by her mother, Kathryn Kelley of Knoxville, Illinois, two sons, Robert William McDorman and his daughter, Robyn, and Ryan Wilson McDorman and his daughter, Jayden all of Galesburg; two stepsons, Woodrow Wilson III (Kelli) McDorman and Wayne Franklin (Sandra) McDorman both of Galesburg; two stepdaughters, Dena Raye (Mark) Garrison, Galesburg and Wilma Rosetta (Ted) Brown, Peoria, AZ; three sisters, Cathy Berry of Galesburg, Carol (Brad) Dietrich of Quincy, Illinois and Carla (Steve) Schmalz of Galesburg; an aunt, Martha (Jerry) Anderson of Galesburg; her special friend, William Cassell, whom she shared her home with for over 12 years and his children, Kimberly Cassell, William G. Cassell and Shag Hess; 10 grandchildren; one great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, her step father who helped raise her, Bernard Kelley and her husband.

Connie was a bartender for over 25 years, working at The Corral and the Silverfront. She was a huge NASCAR fan and had attended the Daytona 500 the past seven years. She had played on several bowling leagues and pool leagues in the surrounding area. She excelled in pool, winning a championship in Chicago. Connie was an avid Cardinal baseball fan and Bulls fan. Connie loved spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren.

Funeral will be 11:00 am Friday, September 16, 2016 in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. The Rev. Daniel Siems will officiate. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 pm Thursday, September 15, 2016 at the chapel. Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the family.
