Katherine J. (Kathy) Murphy

Katherine J. (Kathy) Murphy, 72, of rural Marshall, MO, died Monday, September 12, 2016, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, MO. Born April 7, 1944, in Monmouth, IL, she was the daughter of the late William Pittman and Arlene Pittman Gillette. Kathy married Ervin Hull who preceded her in death. On October 13, 1979, she married Fred L. Murphy who survives of the home. She was raised in Monmouth, IL and had lived in Saline County, MO since 1986, where she retired from ConAgra Foods. She was a Presbyterian. In addition to her husband, Fred, Kathy is survived by one daughter, Wendy Hull of rural Marshall; one stepson, Tony Murphy and wife Michelle of rural Monmouth, IL; 10 grandchildren: Robert Benham, Kelsey Guy, Casey Burkett, Steven Cooper, Josh Cooper, Thomas Coleman, Samantha Murphy, Tyler Murphy, Charleign Murphy and Leigha Murphy; several great-grandchildren; four brothers: Rev. Bill Pittman of Kirkwood, IL, Terry Gillette Milwaukee, WI, and Dewey Gillette and Rusty Gillette both of Monmouth; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and first husband, Kathy was preceded in death by three daughters, Joy Albisu, Tawni Burkett and Christina Murphy; and two sisters, Delores Shamblin and Sharon Pinson; and her stepfather, Merle Gillette.

　

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 14, 2016, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. Another visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 16, 2016 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, IL. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Monmouth Cemetery in Monmouth IL. Memorials may be made to family choice.
