Donna L. Masinda, 91, of
Galesburg, died at 4:10 a.m. Saturday, October 8, 2016 in the Knox
County Nursing Home.
She was born March 20,
1925, in London Mills, the daughter of Alva and Flossie (Pascoe)
Bevard. She married George Masinda on April 6, 1947 in Galesburg.
He preceded her in death on July 10, 2000.
She is survived by a
daughter, Gail Masinda and her husband, John Barker of Galesburg; two
granddaughters, Laura and her husband, Aaron Amundson of Cedar
Rapids, Iowa and Lisa Masinda Hunt of Galesburg; two great
grandchildren, Abigail and Elliot Amundson; a brother, Floyd “Bud”
and his wife, Dot Bevard of Thornton, Colorado; and nieces and
nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by
her parents and a sister, Alvina Miller.
Donna graduated from
Galesburg High School in 1943. She worked in the Knox County Clerk’s
Office for many years before retiring. In 1979, she and George moved
to Texas, where they lived for many years. Donna returned to
Galesburg in 2003. She was of Christian faith.
Visitation will be 11 a.m.
to 1 p.m. Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West
Galesburg Chapel. Graveside service will follow in Oak Lawn Memorial
Gardens. Memorial contributions in Donna’s name may be made to the
