Rodney Bryant Bowen

Rodney Bryant Bowen, 67 of Raritan, IL passed away Monday October 17, 2016, 8:36 p.m. at his home.  He was born Tuesday November 9, 1948 in Burlington, IA the son of Wendal and Luella "Sis" (Link) Bowen.  He married  Ruby Ann Overstreet on July 11, 9171 in Raritan, IL.

He was the father of two children Danielle Elizabeth (Tim) Bowen Matthews of Washington, IL and Garrett Wayne Bowen of Raritan, IL; he was the grandfather of six grandkids, Ember Nicole (Nathan) Bowen of Kirkwood, IL, Jesslyn Ann Sours of Monmouth, IL Skyler Bryant Sours of Media, IL, Lacey Michelle, William Bryant, and Lilly Ann Bowen all of Raritan, IL; his great grandchildren Aydenn Michael, and Jentry Bryant of Kirkwood, IL; one sister Patricia Ann Bowen of Media, IL.

He was a fan of all sports, he loved playing cards and playing pool and was on several leagues.  He also owned and showed quarter horses, winning high point halter classes of Des Moines Co. Club.  He helped with the clubs annual Registered Quarter Horse Shows and loved showing his horse Dude.  He loved being with family and friends.  He was a little League coach for 4 years for RMS when Garrett was playing, and he helped with his grandson Skyler's 3 on 3 basketball at Roseville, IL.

Cremation rites have been accorded.  The family will receive friends and family Friday eve October 21, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Raritan Reformed Church.  Memorials may be made in his memory.
