She was born July 19, 1976 in Galesburg, the daughter of David and Sharon Brantingham Harroun.
Jamie is survived by her mother and stepfather, Sharon and Bob Miller
of Abingdon; her boyfriend, Brian Waldon of Mackinaw; one brother, Mike
(Angie) Harroun of Galesburg; one sister, Gerri Lynn Lester of Franklin,
Kentucky; and nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, stepbrothers and
stepsisters, and many friends. Jamie is also survived by her beloved
dogs, Cloe, Bella and Lady.
She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents.
She grew up in Abingdon and was active in dance and gymnastics at
Debbie’s Dance and Baton Studio and later helped teach classes there.
She also participated in the Orange Bowl football game halftime with the
group. She graduated from Abingdon High School where she was a
cheerleader and also played on the football team. She then graduated
from Carl Sandburg School of Cosmetology and worked as a beautician at
Cuttin Corners Hairstylists in Galesburg. She also worked for Sally
Beauty Supply and later for Chicago Hair Cuttery. Jamie and her
boyfriend Brian worked together in construction and lead abatement for
several years. Jamie began singing at a young age. She was a member of
the Abingdon United Methodist Church and was a member of the church
choir and praise band. She was a singer for the bands BMW, Better Days,
Karma, Shadow of Doubt, Deja Vu, Far From Over and her current band,
Project Voodoo.
The family would like to thank all the local law enforcement agencies,
news media and the many volunteers for their time and efforts made
during this difficult time to help them find Jamie.
Cremation will be accorded. Celebration of life service will be 10
a.m. Friday, November 18, 2016 at the Abingdon United Methodist Church,
401 N. Washington St., in Abingdon. Rev. Nancy Wilson and Mrs. Eleanor
Landon will officiate. Following the service, family and friends will
continue to celebrate Jamie’s life during a time of food and fellowship
at the Abingdon American Legion Post #381, 546 State Route 41 in
Abingdon. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel is assisting the
family with arrangements.
