Leona Eileen (Hoots) Angelo, 96,
of Monmouth, IL, died at 6:50 p.m. Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at her home.
She was born September 8, 1920 in
Winchester, IL the daughter of Roy Lee “Bud” and Pearl Eileen (Wilson)
Hoots. She was raised and educated in
Winchester, IL.
Leona married Charles Albert
Angelo in Palmyra, MO on May 25, 1938 and he preceded her in death on September
7, 1999.
Leona retired from Monmouth Hospital
where she worked in the laundry department for 10 years.
She was of Baptist faith. Leona enjoyed flowers, sewing, and
embroidering. Most of all, she loved
being around her grandchildren.
Survivors include her two sons,
Bill (Tanya) Angelo of Newalla, OK and Dallas (Jodi) Angelo of Oklahoma City,
OK; two daughters, Susan Hammer and Teresa (Caleb) Brinton both of Monmouth;
twenty five grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, great great
grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her
parents, husband, one daughter Barbara Gray; three sons; Jack Angelo, Chuck
Angelo and Robert Angelo; grandson, Clinton Donivan Reith; sisters, Frieda
Gregory, Marie Kesterson, Shirley Hoots and Brunetta McLaughlin; brothers,
James Dan Hoots, Roy “Bud” Hoots, Wilson Hoots and Merle Hoots.
