Judy G. Shay

Judy G. Shay, 68, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 5:10 p.m. Friday February 17, 2017 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg.
She was born on October 23, 1948 in Galesburg to Edward J. and Betty Pritchard Shay.
Judy is survived by an uncle, Sherman Shay, Sr. of Avon, Illinois and many cousins. She is also survived by her chosen family, Pat Simpson of Galesburg; Kelly (and Kevin) Knitter of Augusta, Georgia; Kristen and Thomas Knitter of Ft. Carson, Colorado; Carl Simpson and John Reisert of Louisville, Kentucky.
Judy was a Registered Nurse for over 40 years caring for patients at the former Americana Nursing Home and St. Mary Hospital. She retired in 2011 from Cottage Hospital as a nursing supervisor.
She also taught tumbling, gymnastics and dance at the Royal Rockettes Studio in Oneida, Illinois.
Memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 27, 2017 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Deacon Michael Crummer officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, February 26, 2017 at the Chapel. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s’ Children’s Hospital. Online condolences may be left at www.h-p-w.com.
