Polly
L. Snyder, 81, of Galesburg,
died at 1:58 a.m. Friday, March 24, 2017 at home.
Polly
was born April 1, 1935 in Terre Haute, IL, the daughter of John P.
and Mildred I. Pence Lovitt. She married Jack L. Snyder in 1953. He
preceded her in death in 1977. Polly is survived by two sons, Daniel
E. (Barb) Snyder of Indianapolis, IN and Greg E. Snyder of Rio; three
daughters, Judith L. Kroner of Moscow Mills, MO, Linda K. Putnam of
Gladstone, and Peggy L. Snyder of Springfield; 10 grandchildren; and
15 great grandchildren. Along with her husband, Polly was preceded
in death by her father, J.P. Lovitt; her mother, Mildred Worden; a
brother, Craig Lovitt; and her great granddaughter, Riley M. Thomas.
Polly
worked as a teller and personal banker for many years at First
National Bank, later Wells Fargo, retiring in 1995. She loved to
spend time with her grandchildren and loved to travel and shop.
Visitation
will be 4 to 5 p.m. Friday, March 31, 2017 at Watson-Thomas Funeral
Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Funeral services will follow at 5
p.m. Rev. Matt Reese will officiate. Cremation rites will be
accorded following funeral services. Burial of cremated remains will
be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 1, 2017 in East Linwood Cemetery,
Galesburg. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made
in Polly’s memory to Harbor Light Hospice. Online expressions of
