Morilla
J. Lair, 82, of Lomax, Illinois, passed away at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday April
18, 2017 at her home. She was born August 3, 1934 in Monmouth,
Illinois, the daughter of Arthur Vern and Gladys Luscomb Waterman. On
November 5, 1951, she married William "Bill" Lair in New Orleans,
Louisiana. He preceded her in death on September 30, 1989.
Mrs. Lair
lived all of her adult life in Lomax. She was employed as a corrections
officer for Des Moines County Correctional Center in Burlington, Iowa
for several years. She was an avid bingo player, and enjoyed spending
time with her family.
Survivors
include three daughters, Jeri (Gene) Karger and Doris Donaldson, both of
Lomax, IL, Diana (Pete) Hernandez of Montrose, IA, seven grandchildren,
19 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. She was
preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sisters, Ellrona Van
Hyning and Thelma Todd.
Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until 1:50 p.m. Saturday April 22,
2017 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City, Illinois,
followed by a graveside service at 2:00 P.M. in the Crane Cemetery,
near Lomax, IL. A memorial fund has been established, and will be
