Mary A. Miller, age 77, of Monmouth, Illinois, passed away at 8:13 P.M. on
Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Seminary Manor in Galesburg, Illinois. She was born on
November 11, 1939 in Monmouth, Illinois, the daughter of Wilbur and Alma
(Dollinger) Quick. Mary attended schools in the Cameron area and also attended
Monmouth High School. On March 3, 1957, she married William J. Miller and he
preceded her in death on April 24, 2017. Mary worked at Community Memorial
Hospital in Monmouth for many years as a bookkeeper in the accounting
department. She later worked at the Galesburg Clinic until her retirement in
2008. Earlier in her life, she was employed at Happy Joe's and Hirsch's
Department Store in Monmouth. Mary was a homemaker while her children where
growing up. She enjoyed reading, gardening, going to the casinos, and attending
motorcycle races with her family. Mary was a fan of the Chicago Bulls and St.
Louis Cardinals. Mary is survived by two daughters; Marilyn and Nancy Miller,
both of Portland, OR, two sons; Bill (Shelly) Miller Jr., of Galesburg, IL, and
David Miller of Monmouth, IL. One sister, Martha Rodriguez of Cameron, IL is
also surviving. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill, and
her sister Grace.
As were Mary's wishes, cremation is being accorded. A memorial service is
planned for 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Turnbull Funeral Home in
Monmouth, Illinois. Her family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 A.M. prior
to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Warren County
Memorial Park in Monmouth. A memorial fund is being established and will be
