Dawn
Marie “Magnuson” Plotts, 50, of rural Roseville, IL died at 7:15 pm Tuesday,
June 27, 2017 at her home.
“Yellapy” wasn’t only a wife, mother, daughter and grandmother;
those were merely her favorite things to be. No, Dawn was a caring, loving, brutally
honest mentor and companion to so many dear friends, not only locally but from
coast to coast.
As irony would have it, her life
could be described as a graceful symphony. The songs she sang not only with her
breathtaking voice that commanded every ear in the room, but also the songs she
whispered in her heart. A heart full of simple pleasures, like capturing the
perfect photo through the eye of a lense and the click of a finger. The solace
of a soft breeze and the pages of her current book with the gentle nudge and
purr of her beloved fur babies.
It wasn’t only the simple things her
heart sang for. The shine of her soul was also bright through the many events
she dedicated her time to. Her dearest selfless composition was The Duwayne
Brooks Music Festival For Diabetes. Which bring us to the three Amigos. Dawn,
Duwayne and Lori were inseparable friends that need no explanation. A powerful
friendship for the ages indeed.
Although, the song she sang with the
most perfect pitch was the one she hymned for her family, in which she couldn’t
have orchestrated without her maestro, soulmate and best friend Theodore Brian
Plotts. The genuine love and appreciation they shared wasn’t just something
they did, it was something that radiated off of every kiss they shared. The
music notes they made together dance on the earth in the form of their
children. Noelle, the Strong, Sarah, the Peace, Alicia, the kind, Christyna,
the Determined, and Skyler, the Brave. And the sparkles that glow from her
smile to her eyes are twirling about as the half notes that are her
grandbabies. Shelby, Bailey, Taylor, Maxine, and Aubrey. With the help of her
son in laws Paul, Tony, and Jake, her legacy lives on through them forever.
Her orchestra doesn’t stop there.
Her childhood friend and sister Terrie along with an endless list of family
both living and passed, are a stanza of people who molded and shaped her into
the woman she became.
She lived! She was fierce! She sings
and dances still with the sand between her toes and the echo of waves crashing
to the shore. The bright brilliant radiance of her mother and lighthouse,
Mabel, has led her safely home, where she now shines to guide us.
