Nicolas C. Canini

Nicolas C. Canini, 54, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 11:00 am Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at his home.

He was born October 18, 1962 in Puerto Rico the son of Guillermo Colon and Ramonita Canini. He married Theresa Wright.

He is survived by his fiancé, Lori Finley of Galesburg; two sons, Hartley Canini and Nick Hummel both of Quincy, Illinois; three daughters, Kathy Canini of Quincy, Kayla Canini of Galesburg and Tiffany Davis of Pennsylvania; two step daughters, Stephanie and Crystal Finley both of Galesburg; two brothers, Guillermo Colon, Jr. of Nebraska and Tilso Rijos of Pennsylvania; three sisters, Esther Colon of Queens, New York, Josefina Colon Carrasquillo of Brooklynn, New York and Sonia Colon of Puerto Rico; six grandchildren, and two on the way and four step grandchildren. Nicolas is also survived by his two Chihuahuas, Chico and Papi. He is preceded in death by his parents, one step son, Donald Haynes, Jr. and one brother, Nielson Canini.

Nicolas worked as a painter for Mid-State Manufacturing for 8 years. He enjoyed fixing things and “tinkering” around the house. He was of the Catholic faith. He loved spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter, Makayla whom lived with them.

Memorial Visitation is scheduled for 4:00-6:00 pm Friday, June 9, 2017 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Cremation has been accorded. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
