Robert L. Lair, 88, of Alexis, IL died at 6:22 a.m. Sunday, June 25, 2017 at
Seminary Manor, Galesburg, IL.
Bob was born June 15, 1929 in
Norwood, Mercer Co. IL., the son of
Leland W. and Kathryn B. (Miller) Lair.
He was raised and educated in the Monmouth and Little York areas.
Robert married Laura Darlene
McAdam on August 11, 1951 in Kirkwood, IL and she survives.
Bob served with the United States
Army during the Korean War from 1951-1953.
Bob worked as a service station
operator, truck driver and worked at the Alexis Motor Co. He also mowed several lawns in the area and
enjoyed motorcycling, fishing, camping, woodworking and his family.
Survivors include his wife;
children, Terry W. (Kat) Lair of Alexis, Steven E. (Barb) Lair of Alexis,
Melody K. Lair of Galesburg, and Jerry L. (Brandie) Lair of Alexis; 8
grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; brother, Gene (JoAnn) Lair of Alexis;
several nieces and nephews and his faithful companion, Niki.
He was preceded in death by his
parents.
Graveside services with military
honors will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Alexis Cemetery. Cremation has been accorded. Memorials may be
given to JDRF Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in the name of his great
granddaughter, Marly Lair, or the Alexis Fire Department. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and
