Betty
Lee Porter, 77, of Galesburg, died at 2:04 a.m. Tuesday, July 4, 2017
at home.
Betty
was born at home in Coal Valley on May 23, 1940 the daughter of Harry
and Leota Roach Lundquist. Betty is survived by one son, Todd
(Cathy) Harrington of Galesburg; one daughter, Beth Walters of
Galesburg; one brother, Jim; two sisters, Carol and Phyllis; and her
best friend of many years, Joyce. Betty is also survived by five
grandchildren, Antone and Jordan Struckley, Shannah, Amber, and Cory
Harrington; as well as two great grandchildren, Jayzion and Andre
Struckley. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Tom
Porter, November 26, 2009; one grandson, Shannon Porter; a brother
and two sisters.
Betty
worked for many area nursing homes and last worked at Rosewood Care
Center in Galesburg, prior to her retirement. She enjoyed gambling
on the river boat and playing poker. Betty also enjoyed bird
watching, reading, and watching game shows. But, most of all, Betty
enjoyed spending time with her family.
Cremation
rites will be accorded. A celebration of life visitation will be 4
to 6 p.m. Friday, July 7, 2017 at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and
Crematory, Galesburg. Memorials may be made to the family in c/o
