Sandra Kay Church

Sandra Kay Church, 74, of Knoxville, Illinois died at 1:50 pm Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at Seminary Manor Nursing Home.

She was born November 28, 1942 in Galesburg the daughter of Lawrence and Nellie B. Teel Fahlund. She married Gerald L. Wingo, Sr. on July 14, 1959 in Galesburg. She later married Frederick M. Church on December 31, 1982 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on November 7, 1999.

She is survived by her son, Gerald Wingo, Jr. of Knoxville; her daughter, Kaylee (Terry) Johnson of Galesburg; two step daughters, Ronda (Mark) John of Galesburg and Katrina (Kenneth) German of Abingdon, Illinois; her brother, Larry Fahlund of Galesburg; her sister, Bernice Kjellander of Abingdon; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a sister, Frances Carol Fullerton.

Throughout the years, Sandra had worked for numerous places including, Lionel’s Beauty Shop, Gross Galesburg, Kozy Inn, Casa Sierra, Country Inn and Suites and the Register Mail Newspaper. She retired May 15, 2001. She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Knoxville. Sandy enjoyed reading and sewing.

Funeral services are scheduled for Noon Friday, July 7, 2017 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. Michel Clark will officiate. Visitation will be from 11:00-Noon at the chapel.
