Michelle
Van Dolah, 69, of Oquawka, Ill., died at 10:09 a.m. Friday, July 7, 2017, at
Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.
Born
May 19, 1948, in Monmouth, Ill., she was the daughter of Floyd William and Mary
Jane Nuss Thomas. On April 26, 1980, Michelle married Lesley A.Van Dolah in
Oquawka.
Mrs.
Van Dolah began worked at various businesses in the Oquawka area. She was an RN
at Applegate Inn in Monmouth and later was director of nursing at Rosebush
Assisted Living in Burlington until her retirement in 2014.
She
graduated from Oquawka High School in 1966 and received a nursing degree from
Carl Sandburg College.
She
enjoyed handguns and shooting with her husband and making good deals on
cars.
Survivors
include her husband; three sons, Bill Van Dolah of Aledo, Ill., and Gene Van
Dolah and Frank "Bud" Stanley, both of Oquawka; and numerous grandchildren and
great-grandchildren.
She
was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, two daughters, one brother and
one sister.
The
family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 12 at Turnbull
Funeral Home in Oquawka.
The
funeral for Mrs. Van Dolah will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 13 at the
funeral home, with burial in Oquawka Cemetery.
A
memorial has been established for the Oquawka Humane Society. For more
