Cleon Stufflebeem, 78, of Galesburg, died at 11:29 a.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg.
Cleon
was born August 10, 1936 in West Grove, IA, the son of Milo and Lucille
Wages Stufflebeem. He married Daisy Horton on October 9, 1955 in
Bunch, IA. Cleon is survived by his wife, Daisy of Galesburg; three
sons, Ricky (Marty) Stufflebeem, Randy (Lori) Stufflebeem, and Roger
Stufflebeem all of Galesburg; two daughters, Ramona (Bobby) Temple and
Ranee Stufflebeem both of Galesburg; a half brother, Mike Stufflebeem of
Ottumwa, IA; a half sister, Sandra Marks of FL; and two step sisters,
Peggy Stanton of Bettendorf, IA and Linda Fitzsimmons of Agency. He is
also survived by 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He was
preceded in death by a daughter, Rhonda Stufflebeem-Trapani on March 5,
2002; his parents; and a brother Clell Stufflebeem.
Cleon
was a baseball coach in the Galesburg area for 45 years and a Boy Scout
leader. He worked for Templeton Roofing Company. Cleon was an avid
St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Bears, Iowa Hawkeyes, and NASCAR fan.
Per
his wishes cremation rites will be accorded. A visitation will be held
5-8 p.m. Monday, May 4, 2015 at Bethel Baptist Church, Galesburg.
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at Bethel
Baptist Church. Pastor Kirk Kendall will officiate. In lieu of
flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Cremation and funeral
arrangements have been entrusted to Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and
Crematory, Galesburg. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family
