Jody W. Howard

Jody W. Howard, age 47 of Altona, Illinois died on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at UnityPoint Health Methodist Hospital in Peoria, Illinois.

He was born on September 29, 1967 in Galesburg, Illinois the son of John and Carol Secrist Howard. He married Cindy J. Flinner on December 28, 1991 in Victoria, Illinois.

Surviving is his wife, Cindy J. Howard of Altona, Illinois; four daughters, Gabrielle Howard, Haleigh Howard, Bailey Howard and Hannah Howard of Altona, Illinois. Siblings, Everett “Jesse” Howard of Altona, Illinois and Lonnie Howard of Galva, Illinois. Step-siblings, Debbie Bedner of Williamsfield, Illinois, Paula Simpson of Galesburg, Illinois, Rena Jackson of Williamsfield, Illinois, Jeff Simpson of Galesburg, Illinois, Paul David Simpson of Galesburg, Illinois and Tony Simpson of Galesburg, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Jody graduated from Williamsfield High School in 1986. He farmed and worked in underground construction.

Jody coached softball for the Midwest Bandits and he loved to hunt and fish. Jody was also a NASCAR fan, and enjoyed playing Texas Hold`em.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at 1:00 P.M at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois.  The memorial service will follow at 2:00 P.M., with Rev. Russ Theobald officiating. A fellowship will be held directly after the memorial service at the Hurd-Hendricks Fellowship Center. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
