John W. Wetterling

John W. Wetterling, age 70 of Stronghurst, Illinois died at 8:07 p.m. Tuesday December 29, 2015 at Select Specialty Hospital in Davenport, Iowa. He was born February 23, 1945 in Burlington, Iowa, the son of Wendell E. and Alberta L. Pearson Wetterling. On October 2, 1966, he married Rose A. Peterson in Stronghurst.
John was a 1963 graduate of Stronghurst High School and a 1967 graduate of Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin. After college, he taught school and coached football, basketball and track, first at Clifton Central High School in Clifton, Illinois, and later for Roseville, Illinois Junior High and High Schools. He then farmed for many years near Raritan, Illinois, then was employed by the former Southern School District in Stronghurst, and the current West Central School District. He served on the boards of several county and community organizations and local school boards. He attended River Of Life Fellowship in Dallas City, Illinois. He rejoiced in being in the outdoors, and participated in and enjoyed sports all of his life. Faith, family and friends were paramount in his life.
Survivors include his wife, two sons, Scott (Nicole) Wetterling of Macomb, IL, Todd (Vanessa) Wetterling of Monmouth, IL, five grandchildren, J.W., Stephanie, Donald, Daniel, and Dylan Wetterling, three great grandchildren, Brixton Wetterling, Adalyn and Aliyah Tate, one sister, Jerilyn Powers of Libertyville, IL, and one brother, J.D. (Karen) Wetterling of Mason, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Jean Mares.
Visitation will be from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. Friday January 1, 2016 at Banks & Beals Funreral Home in Stronghurst. Judy K. Howe

Judy K. Howe, age 75, of Monmouth, Illinois, passed away at 8:56 pm on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Methodist Hospital in Peoria, Illinois. She was born on August 19, 1940 in Monmouth, Illinois, the daughter of Allan D. and Mary A. (Brimmer) Knox. Judy was raised in Monmouth and attended Monmouth High School where she graduated with the Class of 1958. On October 17, 1958, Judy married James A. Howe at the First Christian Church in Monmouth and he is surviving. Judy began work at the Johnson Insurance Agency. She then worked for the Circuit Clerk of Warren County, the Monmouth Trust and Savings Bank, the National Bank, and Stanton Heating and Cooling from which she retired in 2000. She also worked at Howe Bookkeeping Service in Monmouth. Judy enjoyed many things in life; she was an avid golfer, and winner of the Monmouth Women's City Golf Tournament, baking, the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears, dancing, and the Monmouth Roseville Titans. She was known within her family as the "collector of gadgets". Her family was a huge part of her life. Judy belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary and was a member of the "Sweet Adeline's" group locally. Judy is survived by her husband James of Monmouth, two daughters; Janet (Dan) Cheek of Monmouth, IL and Jill (Chad) Carlson of Monmouth, IL, two sons; Joey (Paula) Howe of New Castle, PA and Jeff (Lara) Howe of Newport News, VA, grandchildren; Michael Greenlief, Erin Greenlief, Ryan (Abbey) Greenlief, Samantha Cheek, Ryan (Megan) Cheek, Jordan Cheek, Jeremy (Haylee) Ankle, Jennifer (Brent) Stewart, and Ryne Howe, ten great-grandchildren, two brothers; Chuck (Sue) Knox of Thousand Oaks, CA and Leonard (Mary) Knox of Reynolds, IL, and two sisters; Beverley (John) Livermore of Raritan, IL and Sharon (Gene) Cation of Dublin, OH. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. She is preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, and four sisters.
A funeral service is planned for 10:30 am on Monday, January 4, 2016 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 3:00-5:00 pm on Sunday, January 3, 2016 at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Warren County Memorial Park. Shirley M. “Sam” Skillman

Mr. Shirley M. “Sam” Skillman, 93, of Knoxville, formerly of Galesburg, died at 3:24 p.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2015 in the Knox County Nursing Home.

He was born July 7, 1922 in Valley Springs, South Dakota, the son of Merit S. and Inga (Running) Skillman.  He married Velma I. Hamilton on September 11, 1942 in Baltimore, Maryland.

He is survived by two daughters, Marlene “Po” (and Chuck) Andrewjeski of Kewanee, Illinois and Kristina (and James) Wenstrom of Knoxville; two grandsons, Joshua (and Kari) Wenstrom and Caleb (and Amy) Wentrom; two great grandsons, Layton and Reece; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers, and two sisters.

Sam was an engineer on the CB&Q Railroad for 31 years, retiring in 1983.  He graduated from Valley Springs High School in 1940. 

Sam served in the United States Army during World War II from 1942 to 1945.  He was in the European Theatre. 

Sam was a former member of Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285 and was a founding father of the Little John Conservation Club.  He was a Mason and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Knoxville.  In his younger years, Sam enjoyed gardening, fishing, and hunting.


Visitation will be 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel.  Funeral service will follow at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Michel D. MARJORIE J. COZIAHR

Mrs. Marjorie J. Coziahr, 86, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 11:08 am Thursday, December 29, 2015 in Knox County Nursing Home, Knoxville, Illinois

She was born October 31, 1929 in Galesburg the daughter of Harry M. and Mildred J. Johnson Starr. She married Marvin “Pete” C. Coziahr on November 22, 1947 in Galesburg. They were married 68 years. He preceded her in death on December 3, 2015.

Marjorie is survived by her son, Timothy (and Debra) Coziahr of Decatur, Illinois and her daughter, Marilee J. (and William) Fields of Galesburg; three grandchildren, William (and Catina) Fields, II, Michael and Michele Coziahr; four great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her brother, William H. Starr.

Marjorie worked for the former Chicago Motor Club for 5 years and OMC Gale Products for 5 years. She owned and operated the Cozi Cone Ice Cream with her husband. She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1947 and had attended Carl Sandburg College. She was a member of the O.A.K.S. Marjorie was a member of the Covenant Church.


Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 pm Monday, January 4, 2016 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. Tom Ek will officiate. Visitation will be 12:30-1:30 pm Monday at the chapel. Gene Cooper

Gene Cooper age 78 of Bushnell, IL passed away on Saturday December 26, 2015 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.  He was born on May 15, 1937 in Ellisville, IL to Clifton G. and Berniece E. Thurman Cooper.  He married Susan Orendorff on October 2, 1960 in Canton, IL.  Gene is survived by his wife Susan of Bushnell, IL, 1 Son and 1 Daughter – Gary (Valerie) Cooper of Bushnell, IL and Karen (Robert) Catlin of Long Grove, IL and 3 Grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his Parents, 2 Brothers and 2 Sisters. 
Gene was Past President of the Illinois Amateur Trap Shooters Association, he loved playing and listening to music and he was a lifelong farmer.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday January 6, 2016 at the Macomb First Christian Church with Rev. Mary Frances Smith

Mary Frances Smith, 70, of Galesburg, died at 9:02 a.m. Sunday, December 27, 2015 at Richard Owens Hospice House, Peoria, IL.
Mary was born on April 10, 1945 in Noble, KY, the daughter of Oat and Minnie Lou Wireman Johnson.  Mary is survived by two sons, Bobby Wire of Peoria and Monte Wire of Highlands Ranch, CO; one daughter, Theresa Wire of Abingdon; one granddaughter, Jamie Wire of Abingdon; two great grandchildren, Ruby and Owen Sayers; and several brothers and sisters.  Mary was preceded in death by her parents and several brothers and sisters.
Mary worked at Maytag for over 30 years, retiring in 2002.  She was an active volunteer for the Guardian Angels Humane Society.  She also enjoyed gardening in her yard, sewing and quilting.

ROBERT “BOB” M. PALMER

Mr. Robert “Bob” M. Palmer, 58, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 4:31 a.m. Sunday, December 27, 2015 in OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, Illinois.

He was born January 18, 1957 in Ulm-Germany the son of Wilbert B. and Helga Böcker Palmer. He married Cindy Sue Crane on July 18, 1986 in Galesburg. She preceded him in death on June 28, 2008.

He is survived by his mother, Helga and Mike Allen of Galesburg; his father, Wilbert B. Palmer of Galesburg; two daughters, Holly (and William Thompson) Boone-Curran of Flower Mound, Texas and Elizabeth (and Kristopher Mason) Palmer; his mother in law, Jo Anne (and the late Bill) Crane of Galesburg; his brother, Christopher Allen of Galesburg; two nieces, Amanda (and Tim) Claspill and Emma Allen; four nephews, Ryan (and Holly) Crane, Steven, Chandler and Alexander Allen; his cousin, Ray Palmer of Greensburg, Pennsylvania and all of Helga’s family in Germany. He is preceded in death by his wife; his grandfather, Bernardt Böcker; and father in law, Bill Crane.

Bob worked as a master electrician for many years. He was a member of the Corpus Christi Catholic Church. He enjoyed spending time with his dog, BB.


Funeral Mass is scheduled for 11:45 a.m. Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Rev. William Miller will officiate. The Rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m. Saturday by Deacon Michael Crummer at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Marietta M. Jones

Marietta M. Jones, age 92, of Eureka, Illinois, previously of Biggsville, Illinois, passed away at 11:15 pm on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at Eureka Hospital. She was born on May 19, 1923 in Aberdeen, South Dakota, the daughter of Paul and Grace (Swan) Froehlich. Marietta attended school in the Aberdeen area and graduated from Warner High School. She later attended business school. On May 11, 1945, Marietta married Everett D. Jones in Aurora, Illinois and he preceded her in death on October 30, 2000. Marietta began work as a secretary and continued that work at Memorial Gardens in Aberdeen. She lastly worked in the laundry/dry cleaning business from which she retired in the mid 1990's. Marietta enjoyed going to auctions and dining out with Everett. Marietta loved good conversation on the phone and laughing with her friends and having a good time. She much enjoyed spending time with her family. Marietta also did volunteer work at Maple Lawn in Eureka. She is survived by one daughter; Linda (Mike) Avery of Eureka, IL, two sons; Lyle L. Jones of Eureka, IL and Larry E. Jones of Bettendorf, IA, four grandchildren; LeAnn M. (David) Claussen, Jason P. (Theresa) Jones, Tyler E. (Crystal) Jones, Katie (Bill) Valentin, and four great-grandchildren; Makayla Claussen, Aaron Claussen, Lance Jones, and Lewis Jones. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one sibling, Marvin Froehlich.

Martha King

Galesburg – Martha King, 91 of Galesburg, passed away peacefully at 11:45 p.m. Sunday, December 27, 2015 at her home surrounded by 5 generations of her loving family.
She was born February 19, 1924 in Cameron, the daughter of Kenny and Margaret Shaw Medhurst.  She married Harold King in 1944 in Knoxville and they shared 49 years together.  Harold preceded her in death in 1993.  She was also preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Walter, Ward and Robert Medhurst.
Martha is survived by her daughter, Mary Ruth Kennett of Galesburg; two granddaughters, Tina Gruber of Galesburg and Kristie Strieby
of Carlsbad, New Mexico. She was known as "Nanny" to her 9 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren; and is beloved by many nieces, nephews and their families.
She graduated from Alexis High School in 1942 and was a beloved neighbor in Gilson, Lake Bracken, and Galesburg. She most recently retired from managing the restaurant at Lake Bracken Country Club in 1988.
Martha never knew a stranger and that was evident if you ever had the pleasure of attending one of her infamous parties. Her door was always open and everyone was always welcome at Nanny's house whether for a chat, sleepover, or a visit. Most of all Martha will be remembered for her caring but stubborn spirit by all who knew her, including memories of family gatherings, road trips with friends and family, Sunday Bridge, weekends at Bluegrass festivals, and of course her chocolate chip pies.
Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at the Gilson Cemetery.  Mrs. Eleanor Landon will officiate.  At her request there will be no funeral or visitation.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel is in charge of arrangements.  Following the graveside service family and friends are invited to the Church of God of Prophecy, 207 N. Washington St. in Abingdon to continue to celebrate Martha’s life during a time of food and fellowship.  All food donations may be dropped off at the Church of God of Prophecy anytime that morning.

Mary Francis Smith

Mary Francis Smith, 70, of Galesburg, died at 9:02 a.m. Sunday, December 27, 2015 at Richard Owens Hospice House, Peoria.

Sue E. Steller

Sue E. Steller age 64 of Galesburg, Ill. died Sunday December 27, 2015 at 11:53 AM at OSF St. Mary Medical Center.

She was born January 6, 1951 in Galesburg, Ill. the daughter of Frederick A. and Mary C. Compton Steller.

She is survived by her mother Mary Steller of Galesburg, Ill., two brothers Bradford A. and his wife Krista Steller of Springfield, Ill. and Timothy N. Steller of Roscoe, Ill. surviving also are two nieces Erin Steller and Elizabeth Knoedler.

She was a Public Librarian for 40 years retiring in 2013.

Sue graduated from Galesburg High School in 1969 and Western Illinois University in 1995. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she was active in church leadership, Western Illinois University Alumni, and ASPCA. She was an avid fan of thoroughbred horse racing, (especially fond of the horse Zenyatta), Illini Sports, and voracious reader and scholar of children’s literature. Sue loved all animals particulary her cats.


Funeral services will be 11 AM Wednesday December 30, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Dr. Len Hoffmann officiating. Visitation will be . one hour prior to the services. Linda K. Hunter

Linda K. Hunter, age 70 of Knoxville, Illinois died at 5:20 A.M. on Thursday, December 24,
2015 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital, Galesburg, Illinois.

She was born on November 27, 1945 Holdrege, Nebraska the daughter of Joseph and Florence
Holmes Spellman. She married Gary L. Hunter on March 22, 1986 in Galesburg, Illinois.
Surviving is her husband, Gary L. Hunter of Knoxville, Illinois; one daughter, Kerstin (Sammy)
Coombs of Knoxville, Illinois; one son, John “Bill” Henning of Abingdon, Illinois; two
grandchildren, Brittney (Jeff) Allen of Knoxville, Illinois and Colton Coombs of Gilson, Illinois;
two great grandchildren, Ella and Jett Allen; and her beloved dog, Katy Scarlett O’Hunter. She
was preceded in death by her Parents, one sister, Joan Moorehouse and one brother, Larry
Spellman. 

She worked as an Insurance Clerk for Galesburg Cottage Hospital over 30 years retiring in 2010.
She loved to shop and was very dedicated.

Richard Carl “Dick” Toal

Richard Carl “Dick” Toal, 11:56 a.m. Saturday, December 26, 2015 at Knox County Nursing Home, Knoxville.
Dick was born March 25, 1927 in Monmouth one of eight children to Edward and Minnie Chapman Toal.  He married Colleen B. Ross on May 7, 1949 in Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Galesburg.  Colleen preceded him in death on February 20, 2010.  Dick is survived by four children, Tim (Debbie) Toal of Milan, Denise (Rick) Randolph of East Peoria, Becky (Jeff) Lundeen of Galesburg, and Bruce (Chris) Toal of Galesburg.  He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Stacy (Steve) Squires, Nick (Cherish) Toal, Lindsay (Chad) Long, Tara Solano, Lora (Chuck) Newton, James (Claudia) Toal, Cody Toal and Ashley Hall, Cassi Lundeen and Calla Massman, and Jason Randolph; 12 great grandchildren; 3 sisters Jane, Doris, and Janis; 2 brothers, Bob and Jack; and a brother and sister-in-law, Lanny and Emily Ross whom he helped "match-up" in the late 50's and In-Laws Rachael Ross, Dennis (Marlene) Ross, and Renee Ross Mercer.  Along with his wife Colleen and his parents, Dick was preceded in death by one sister Phyllis and one brother Bill.
 Dick served as an Army-trained Illinois National Guardsman, serving from 1948-51. He started work as a Butcher in a grocery store.  He then was a salesman and distributor for the Curtiss Candy Company.
He then went on to be an Independent salesman and food distributor of popular regional brands to all the neighborhood, family-owned grocery stores throughout Galesburg and the surrounding towns before the development of the large grocery store chains. Dick also worked as a bus driver for Galesburg schools, driving the bus for the handicapped kids and the bus to sporting events and field trips.
He also worked as a salesman for Roger Brother’s institutional foods.  In semi-retirement he delivered medical supplies for Option Care.  He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus 4th degree.  Dick also enjoyed playing billiards.  Tremendous family time was enjoyed on the Mississippi River at the cabin and on the sandbar when Dick and Colleen were raising their family.
Cremation rites have been accorded.  A memorial mass will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Galesburg.  Fr. Deus-Dedit Byabato will officiate.  All are cordially invited to a luncheon and celebration of life in the parish hall following the mass at the church.  Private family burial of cremated remains will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Galesburg. Memorials may be made to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 858 S. Evelyn A. (Whitmore) Siens

Evelyn A. (Whitmore) Siens, age 83, of Oquawka, Illinois, passed away at 5:30 pm on Friday, December 25, 2015 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital in Galesburg, Illinois. She was born on March 6, 1932 in Burlington, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur E. and Dorothy A. (Judd) Bauer. Evelyn attended school in the Yarmouth, Iowa school system. On June 8, 1950, Evelyn married Richard Whitmore in Burlington, IA and he preceded her in death on September 4, 1981. On July 3, 1982, she married Roger Siens in Oquawka, IL and he preceded her on April 12, 2012. Evelyn began work at Sylvania in Burlington, IA. She then work at various locations as a bartender, and lastly worked at Lamont Limited in
Burlington, IA from which she retired. Evelyn loved to do puzzles, play cards, read books, and listen to country music. Evelyn is survived by two sons; Gerald (Gayle) Whitmore of Galesburg, IL and Michael (Kayla) Whitmore of Burlington, IA, three daughters; Patricia (Gary) Andrews of Atkinson, IL, Connie (John) Spiker of Oquawka, IL, and Brenda Whitmore of Monmouth, IL, eight grandchildren; Tracy (Don) Wade, Cory (Katy) Whitmore, Jeannie (Christian) Salcedo, Alex Spiker, Ashley Whitmore, Michelle Whitmore, Jessica (Donavan) Vanskike, and Richard Spiker, eight great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and one sister; Joyce Gilleard. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. She is preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, two brothers; Gene Bauer and Ralph Calhoon, and two sisters; Linda Allen and Lois Mohnike.

Richard Burton Phillips

Richard Burton Phillips, 87, of Galesburg , died on December 21, 2015 at his home.

He was born on January 30, 1928 , in Sheridan , Wyoming , the son of Joseph and Eula
May (Early) Phillips, and step-son of Waneitta Phillips. He married Janette Phillips who preceded him in death in 1981. He later married Helen (Poplett) Garrett in 2002. She preceded him in death in 2011.

Richard is survived by his sister, Sandy (Richard) Steffen of Fort Madison, Iowa, and a brother, Bob McClendon of Longmont , Colorado .  He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother, sister, Beverly Price, and an adopted son, Keith Phillips.

Richard is survived by Helen’s four children Kevin Ann (Jerry) Bindel, Michaela (John) Reynolds, Greg (Cheryl) Poplett, Jeff (Chrystal) Poplett, five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by Helen’s step-children, the Garrett families, and their children and grandchildren as well as treasured nieces and nephews. He dearly loved his extended family.

Richard was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during World War II. He earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Engineering from the University of Wyoming . He went on to work for GE for 27 years and Lockheed Martin for 15 years. He retired after many years of dedicated service in 2004. Richard enjoyed traveling, photography, and sports. He enjoyed playing softball and tennis. He also enjoyed socializing with friends and going out to dinner. He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Galesburg .

Cremations rites have been accorded. Visitation is planned for Saturday, January 2, 2016 , from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m. at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg . Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Father William T. Miller, IC will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be directed to the St. Vincent De Paul Society, or the University of Wyoming . Richard C. Thompson

Richard C. Thompson, 66, of Monmouth, IL died at 7:08 a.m. Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

He was born January 5, 1949 in Monmouth, IL the son of Lawrence and Margaret (Davis) Thompson. He was raised and educated in Warren County, graduating from Yorkwood High School in 1968. Richard served with the Illinois National Guard.

Richard married Rachel Hernandez in Monmouth on September 21, 1996 and she survives.

Richard farmed his entire life just west of Monmouth. He also did bulldozing for several years. He enjoyed fishing, mushrooming, hiking in the woods and woodworking.

Survivors include his wife, Rachel of Monmouth; daughters, Christel Thompson of Los Angeles, CA and Laura (Ray Johnson) Thompson of Monmouth, IL; his son, Michael (Charity Sanders) Thompson of Monmouth, IL; grandchildren, Jolie Johnson, Hannah Thompson, Emily Thompson, Addison Thompson, Rowen Thompson and Phoebe Thompson; his brother, Larry (Betty) Thompson of Little York, IL; niece, Teresa Thompson of Little York, IL; nephews, Patrick (Char) Thompson of Monmouth and Paul (Breanne) Thompson of Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Clyde K. Ludlum, Jr.

Clyde K. Ludlum, Jr. age 84 of Bushnell, IL passed away on Tuesday December 22, 2015 at Graham Hospital in Canton, IL. Clyde was born on November 18, 1931 in Canton, IL to Clyde K. and Lula Mae Rohrer Ludlum. He married Marge Votsmier on February 14, 1956 in Jacksonville, IL. He is survived by his wife Marge, 2 Sons and 2 Daughters – Gary (Lisa) Ludlum of Prairie City, IL, Sandra (Scott) Warner of Apex, N.C., Sherry Hufstedler of Darien, IL, and Ron (Lisa) Ludlum of Bushnell, IL, 11 Grandchildren and 2 Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Parents, 1 Brother and 3 Granddaughters. 

Clyde grew up in and attended school in Canton, IL. He served in the Air Force from 1951 – 1955. It was during his time in the service that he met his future wife, Marge Votsmier, when they both served as attendants in the wedding of his Air Force buddy and her sister. When he finished his military service, he came to the town of Bushnell to live and take over the grocery store that his brother opened in 1954. Clyde was a second generation grocer and grew up working in the family grocery store in Canton, IL. that was operated by his father and mother. Clyde operated the Bushnell store for over 30 years and also had grocery stores in Roseville and Canton for a number of years. He was a role model for many young people over the years, including his own children, on the importance of having a strong work ethic and how to do a job right. He was a dedicated supporter of the Bushnell Chamber of Commerce and actively involved in the community throughout his life including many years as a member of the Bushnell Lions Club. Clyde also served on the board of directors of the First Federal Savings and Loan Association for several years. He was also a member of the Bushnell United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday December 28, 2015 at the Bushnell United Methodist Church with Pastor Trisha Chapman officiating. There will be no family visitation but friends may call from 2:00 – 6:00 P.M. Sunday December 27, 2015 at the Martin-Hollis Funeral Home in Bushnell, IL. Burial will be in the Bushnell Cemetery. Marjorie S. Hulick

Marjorie S. Hulick, 60, of Galesburg died December 19th, 2015. She was at home, surrounded by her immediate family. Margie was born the youngest daughter of Roy and Ellen Roark. She married John Hulick (Rick) in Texas on January 12, 1974. They have two children, Shane Hulick and Danielle Tansel.

Margie retired as Director of Knox County Housing Authority in 2012. She belonged to the Illinois Association of Housing Authorities, as well as Northern Illinois Council Housing Authorities. Prior to working at the Housing Authority, she was the Director of the Knox County Humane Society and was hired to help transition the Shelter and Humane Society into one organization. Margie was also a Biologist at Wildlife Prairie Park, concurrent with obtaining her BA in Biology from Knox College. She had a life-long passion for animals and has always been active with her dogs. She was committed to giving-back to the community and helped to raise funds for the public library, assisted with Big Brothers Big Sisters and belonged to the Leadership Greater Galesburg Training Centre.

Margie leaves her beloved husband Rick; her son Shane, his wife Jan and their three daughters, Colby, Cadence and Broghan. She also leaves her daughter, Danielle and her husband Bryon, along with her three sisters Diana, Cathy and husband John, MaryAnn and husband Tom, brother-in-law Donnie and wife Claudia, along with many nieces and nephews. Margie was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Ellen Roark and her in-laws, Don and Ione Hulick.

A Celebration of Life/Memorial will be held on Saturday, January 9th, 2016 at 5pm at Visions Venue. Cremation rites have been accorded. Crystal L. Foster

Ms. Crystal L. Foster, 57, of Galesburg died at 3:55 am Tuesday, December 22, 2015 in Marigold Health Care Center.

She was born May 8, 1958 in Macomb, Illinois the daughter of Ronald L. and Carole L. Lawson Foster. She first married Tab Hillier December 1974. She then married Tim McEllen on February 10, 1996 in Galesburg.

She is survived by her mother, Carole Herrmann of East Peoria; four daughters, Tabitha (and Eric) Sundberg, Tara (and Drew Rogers) Hillier, Trisha Hillier and Torrie Hillier all of Galesburg; two step sons, Kris and Mike Hillier both of Galesburg; her sister Rhonda Sturgeon of Galesburg; and her partner, Mike Hanna of Galesburg and ten grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father.

Crystal loved nursing and worked as a registered nurse from 1986-2003. She first worked at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria from 1986-1988, then OSF St. Mary Medical Center from 1988-1997 and Soderstrom Dermatology from 1997-2003. She was a member of Galesburg High School Class of 1976 and graduated Carl Sandburg College in 1986. Crystal volunteered for Big Brothers and Big Sisters. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. She enjoyed bowling, boating and swimming. She was a great cook and was a part of Three Wives Catering. Crystal was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She was always there for her family wanting to help in any way she could.

Memorial Service is scheduled for Noon, Monday, December 28, 2015 at First Lutheran Church. Rev. Vince Marolla will officiate. Visitation will be from 11:00-Noon Monday at the church. Richard Burton Phillips, 87, of Galesburg died at 5:05 p.m. December 21, 2015 at his home.

Dr. Gilbert W. Douglas

Dr. Gilbert W. Douglas died at his Arizona home, on December 16, 2015

He was born on February 5, 1927 in Chicago, Illinois. He married Joan Peters on June 18, 1950. She predeceased him on April 18, 1990.

He is survived by his present wife, Cora Lee Watkins, whom he married on July 4, 1992. Also surviving are four sons and one daughter, Gilbert, Jr. (April), Dr. Daniel J. (Stephanie), Jeffrey (Lea Ann), Susan (Timothy) Banks, and Peter. Also surviving are a stepdaughter, DeLynda (Christopher) Barber and a stepson, Darren Olson. Surviving grandchildren are Rachael Douglas, Gilbert W. Douglas III (Rachel Diercks), Jason Douglas, Jennifer (Ben) Kepler, Stacy (Mike) Johnson, Allison Douglas, Kyle (Vanessa) Banks, Emily Banks, Sean Banks, Christopher Douglas, and Melissa and Kelly Douglas. Surviving great grandsons are Tate and Jack Johnson, and Asa Banks. A great granddaughter is expected in January 2016.

Dr. Douglas was a Diplomate of the Board of General Surgery and the Board of Thoracic & Cardiovascular Surgery at the Galesburg Clinic for 35 years.

He was educated at the University of Illinois and the Chicago Medical School of the University of Health Sciences. He interned at the Presbyterian Hospital in Chicago and at the University of Illinois Research Hospital and Hines VA Hospital. He served on the faculties of the University of Illinois Medical School and Rush Medical School. He was a member of many surgical societies. He was a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians. He was a past president of the Knox County Medical Society.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army in France and Germany. He credited the G.I. Bill of Rights for the financial help in furthering his medical education. He was a longtime leader at the Galesburg Clinic and instrumental in moving the OSF Galesburg Clinic and OSF St. Mary Medical Center to its present location.

He is a member of the First Presbyterian Church and served as an Elder. He was a member of the District 205 School Board during the drive to implement the bond referendum to build the middle schools and high school addition.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 27, 2015 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Funeral will be Monday, December 28, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, where military honors will be provided following the service. Graveside services for family members to be at Mt. Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst, Illinois. Donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church, Knox College, or OSF St. Mary Medical Foundation.

Ronald Gregory Winbigler

Ronald Gregory Winbigler, 67, of Monmouth, IL died at 12:02 p.m. December 21, 2015 at his home.

He was born April 3, 1948 in Monmouth, IL the son of Lloyd and Pauline “Boots” (Lantz) Winbigler and Donald Roberts. He was raised and educated in Warren County where he graduated from Warren High School in 1966. He later attended Monmouth College and graduated from Carl Sandburg College in 1979 with a degree in Law Enforcement. 
  
Ron served with the United States Navy.

Ron married Becky Slater, Lisa Harrison and later Carol Hays and she survives.

He worked as a police officer for the Monmouth Police Department for several years, a salesman for Dee Harrison Ford and Ray Green Chevrolet. He later was a truck driver for Munson Transportation and Heartland Trucking where he achieved a 5 million mile safe driving record.

Ron attended and professed his love of Jesus at the Countryside Bible Church, Monmouth. He enjoyed photography, woodworking, and animals. He was an avid Minnesota Vikings Fan. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Winbigler of Wataga; daughters, Nicole (Mike) Jones and Kelli (Kyle Kinzer) Winbigler both of Monmouth IL; step children, Andy (Stacey) Hall of Little York, IL, Sara (Andy) Varner of Oneida, IL, Erik (Lisa) Hall of Oneida, IL and Ryan (Courtney) Hall of Wataga, IL; his grandchildren, Mallory, Slater and Grady Jones and Codie Winbigler all of Monmouth; Jacob, Lillie, Lexi, Ava, & Allie Varner, Layne, Wyatt & Hailey Hall all of Oneida, IL, Cora & Etta Hall of Little York, IL, Ethan and Parker Hall of Wataga, IL; his mother, Pauline “Boots” Winbigler of Monmouth; brothers, Rick (Donna) Winbigler of Monmouth, IL, Randy (Jan) Winbigler of Roseville, IL, and Roy Winbigler of Galesburg, IL; sisters, Kathy (Kent) Willis of Monmouth, IL, Carol (Ron) LeGate of Galesburg, IL, Donna (Bill) Ramsey of Waxhaw, NC, Gina (Tom) Settlemyre of Ft. H. Raleigh Stegall

H. Raleigh Stegall, 79 of Galesburg and formerly of Abingdon, passed away at 1:48 p.m. Monday December 21, 2015 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg with his loving family at his side.

He was born June 7, 1936 in Springfield, the son of Henry Raleigh and Allie Thompson Stegall. He married Nancy Peck on November 12, 1954 in Abingdon.

Raleigh is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Nancy; two sons, John (Jenny) Stegall of Abingdon and Rick (Anita) Stegall of LaSalle; one daughter, Brenda (Rev. Randy) Morse of Scott City, Missouri; 6 grandchildren, Mandy Stegall, Angie Huckstep, Stephanie McMillan, Nathan Morse, Andrew Stegall, Ashley Stegall and 4 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, two brothers and one grandson.

He graduated from Abingdon High School in 1954. He attended Browns Business College in Galesburg. He had lived in Abingdon most of his life. He worked at the Admiral Factory for 11 years and later at Gates Rubber Company for 29 ½ years, retiring in 1998. He also worked part-time at the former Ace Hardware in Abingdon. He had lived in Galesburg since 2000. He was a member and Deacon of the Abingdon Christian Church. He was a past member of the former Abingdon Jaycees and was a member of the Christian Rodders Association Car Club.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at the Abingdon Christian Church. Rev. Darryl McDaniel, Rev. Randy Morse and Rev. Nathan Morse will officiate. Jo Ann (Fuller) Hoerner

Mrs. Jo Ann (Fuller) Hoerner, 77, of Good Hope, IL passed away at 6:15 p.m. on Sunday December 20th, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Jo Ann was born on October 17th, 1938 in Central City, Iowa. 

Surviving are children Dennis (Jane) Hoerner, Kathi (Jim) Lutrell and Greg (Beth) Hoerner; Daughter in Law Donna Hoerner; Grandchildren Kristina, Brittany, Megan, Lucas, Broderick, Cole and Alissa. Brothers; Robert, Wayne, Larry and Terry. Sister; Linda and several Nieces and Nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Harry J. Hoerner, son Timothy John Hoerner, Grandson Cameron Lee Willey; Sister Jean (Fuller) Parmenter and mother Nelle Fuller.

Jo Ann married the love of her life, Harry Hoerner, June 30, 1957. They lived in several states while Harry was acquiring his teaching degree and accumulated many lifelong friends. Jo Ann loved spending time with family. She was a competitive game player and loved her bridge games.

Jo Ann kept busy in her life working several different jobs, while raising four children and assisting Harry with his educational pursuits.

Jo Ann was over a 20 year survivor of Breast Cancer and worked closely with the American Cancer Societies Reach To Recovery program for Breast Cancer. Helping people cope with their breast cancer experiences.

Jo Ann and Harry enjoyed many travels within the US and abroad. The highlight being a 50th wedding anniversary celebrated with their children and their spouses to Alaska in 2007.

Jo Ann considered everyone a friend and knew no strangers. She was always willing to help those in need be they friends or strangers.

A visitation and celebration of life will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., with services following, Tuesday December 29, 2015 at the Corman Memorial Home in Roseville, Il. Cremation rights have been accorded.

Robert E. Pennington

Mr. Robert E. Pennington, 70, of Galesburg, Illinois, died at 7 a.m. Friday, December 18, 2015, at his home.

He was born October 29, 1945 in Fort Madison, Iowa the son of Ellsworth Warner and Colletta Bernice McDonald Pennington. He married Sandra Mason on July 17, 1975. He later married Barbara Brasche. 

Robert is survived by two sons, Evert Swanson of Galesburg and Robert (and Ellen) Van Natta of Colchester, Illinois; two daughters, LaDawn Johnson of Abingdon, Illinois and Lisa (and Jim) Nader of Farmington, Illinois,; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Robert worked as a taxi driver for several years. He graduated from high school in Ft. Madison and had attended Carl Sandburg College. He was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Society.

Private graveside service is scheduled for December 23, 2015 in Holeman-Olive Cemetery, near Avon, Illinois. James D. “Bubba” Kimbrough

Mr. James D. “Bubba” Kimbrough, 82, of 788 S. Henderson St., Galesburg, Illinois died at 12:13 PM Saturday December 19, 2015 in OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg.
He was born January 19, 1933 in Galesburg to Sylvester and Addie Moore Kimbrough.  He married Nancy Ewing on September 30, 1956 in Galesburg.  She preceded James in death on January 9, 2007.
James is survived by a son, James D. Kimbrough, Jr. of Galesburg; a daughter, Harriet E. (and Isaiah) Thomas of Moline, Illinois; a brother-in-law, James Holloway of Galesburg; a sister-in-law, Rosalyn Tubbs of Tulsa, Oklahoma; five nieces and nephews, Anthony, Walter, Terry, Troy and Chris; 11 grandchildren, Jamie, Jammie, Jeaniese, Meisha, Dereka, Lawrence, Shamonta, Katrel, Adrian, Pam and Chris; 17 great-grandchildren and a host of great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Lawrence Kimbrough; a daughter, Carla Williams; and two sisters, Margaret Settle and Anna Holloway.
He worked for Butler Manufacturing for 40 years retiring in 1993. 
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was a member of Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church, Galesburg. 
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.  He loved the LA Dodgers. He loved and cherished his family and his best friend, Horace Coleman.

Funeral services will be at 1:30p.m. Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Rev. Tyson Parks officiating.  Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Chapel.  Burial will be in the East Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg where military honors will be provided by the Ralph M. Patricia A. Wilson

Patricia A. Wilson age 86 of Bushnell, IL passed away on Saturday December 19, 2015 at the Elms Nursing Center in Macomb, IL.  She was born on January 9, 1929 in Bushnell, IL to Viner and Marie (Downs) Swanson.  She married Guy Robert “Bob” Wilson in Macomb, IL on August 27, 1948 and he preceded her in death on December 10, 2013.  Patricia was the loving mother of one son; Donald (Barbara) Wilson of Bushnell, IL, three daughters; Jan (Wayne) Sissors of Arlington Heights, IL, Marianne (Rod) McGrew of Bushnell, IL , and Nancy (John) Stoner of Belleair, FL. She was  the loving and proud grandmother to six grandchildren; Jesse, Scott and Tyler McGrew, Molly Sissors (John Mahoney), Katie (Andy) Harmon and Kyle Stoner.  She is also survived by one brother Robert Swanson and one sister Dorothy Farrar both of Bushnell, IL.  She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, three sisters and one grandson.
Patricia lived in Bushnell her entire life.  She worked as a CNA at the Elms Nursing Home, McDonough District Hospital and also cared for many as a home healthcare aide up until her retirement at the age of 75.  Her joys in life were gardening, cooking, reading and crosswords.  Most of all she loved spending time with her family.

Frances J. Elliott

Frances J. Elliott, 88, of Monmouth, IL passed away with her family at her side at 12:14 p.m. Friday December 18, 2015 on her birthday at the Monmouth Nursing Home. Frances was born on December 18, 1927 in Hale Township in rural Monmouth, IL. She was the daughter of E.T. and Kate (Gavin) Gillen. She was raised on the farm and attended Hale Center School and graduated from Monmouth High School in 1945. Frances married Ralph F. Elliott at the Immaculate Conception Church in Monmouth on February 9, 1948. Frances and Ralph enjoyed 68 years of marriage. Frances and Ralph in their early years lived on the farm west of Monmouth. In 1959 they moved to the farm south of Monmouth in Lenox Township where they lived and worked together for the next 60 years. Prior to starting a family, Frances also worked at Brown, Lynch, Scott and Spurgeon’s in Monmouth. Frances was a strong woman of faith and a lifelong member of the Immaculate Conception Church and an active worker in the Altar and Rosary Society. She was a proud wife, mother, grand mother, and great-grandmother who always liked to have fun. Putting the needs of her family before her own was her common method of operation. Frances was known for her cooking skills and for the many years of her "meals in the field service". Her larger than life personality allowed her to know virtually no strangers. Memories of how she lived her life and the legacy she left behind will continue to have influence for generations to come. JUNE NELSON. HARTLEY



Mrs. June N. Hartley, 95, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 2:04 am Friday, December 18, 2015 in Bickford Cottage in Davenport, Iowa.

She was born June 26, 1920 in Galesburg the daughter of Frank W. and Alice Sollars Hopp Nelson. She married Donald R. Hartley on June 4, 1949 in Galesburg.

She is survived by her two daughters, Vicki H. Stegall of Bettendorf, Iowa and Michelle A. and Jim Davis of Davenport, Iowa; and her two grandchildren, Tennille and Scott Davis. She is preceded in death by her two brothers, Eugene S. and Leonard W. Nelson and sister Marjorie N. Powell.

June had worked as the secretary/treasurer for several schools including Moline High School, Churchill Jr. High and Galesburg High School for over 30 years, retiring in 1990. June also worked for Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel doing clerical work for over 15 years. June was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the church choir, session, women’s sewing group, and attended regional Presbytery meetings. She graduated from Galesburg High School and Browns Business College and was a lifetime member of the Alpha Iota Sorority. June enjoyed time with her family and best friends Jim and Merle Miller, traveling, attending Cubs games, golfing, watching sports and cooking. June was always able to provide a laugh with her entertaining stories about her life’s adventures.


Funeral services are scheduled for 10 am Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Pastor Jordan Knight will officiate. Betty J. Hilton

Betty J. Hilton age 86 of rural Bushnell, IL passed away at 9:50 A.M. Friday December 18, 2015 at Heartland Healthcare Center in Macomb, IL.  She was born on November 6, 1929 in Ipava, IL to Scott and Irene Mayhall Jones.  She married Edward Hilton on September 10, 1947 in Ipava, IL.  Betty is survived by her husband Eddie Hilton, 1 Son and 1 Daughter – David (Linda) Hilton of Bushnell, IL and Janet (Earl) Barker of Canton, IL, 6 Grandchildren and 9 Great-Grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her Parents, 2 Brothers and 1 Son. 
Betty helped her husband on the farm for 40 years and she loved and was devoted to her grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday December 2, 2015 at the Martin-Hollis Funeral Home with Pastor Trisha Chapman officiating.  Visitation will be held from 5 – 7 P.M. Jack Franklin Shive

Jack Franklin Shive, 79, of Galesburg, died Friday, Dec. 18, 2015, at his home.

He was born July 27, 1936, in Montezuma Township, Ill., the son of Robert and Mary Nicholson Shive.  He married Janice L. Settles on Aug. 18, 1957, in Macomb.  She survives.

He is also survived by his daughters, Cindy Ballance of Decatur and Sally (and Jon) McKee of Germantown Hills; a son, Douglas (and Lisa) of Torrance, Calif.; and grandchildren, Sarah, Rachel, and Hannah Ballance, Kelli (and Chase) Owen, Sean McKee, and Lanie, Saige, Paxton, Avery, and Alden Shive. 

He is also survived by six sisters, Vera Havens of Alsey, Frances Giger and Norma (and A.C.) Reel, all of Pittsfield, Alice Guth of Gridley, Betty Wilder of Fondulac, Wis., and Jane Nevius of Bartonville; and two brothers, Richard “Dick” Shive of Winchester and Joe Shive of White Hall.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Karla Shive; grandson, Zachariah Ballance; brothers, Bill, Tom, and John; and sister, Mabel Chapman.

Jack received a bachelor’s degree from Western Illinois University and a master’s from Ball State University along with coursework at Colorado State University and Purdue.

He taught for more than 20 years, last teaching at Galesburg District 205, then worked for Hill Correctional Facility.

Jack loved the outdoors, enjoying fishing, hunting, hiking, bird watching, and wildlife.  He spent hours in his gardens, growing flowers, vegetables, and fruit trees, sharing his produce with many.  You would only find him indoors when the St. Louis Cardinals were playing.

He loved spending time with family, visiting his siblings and children, and was the No. 1 fan at his grandchildren’s events.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to noon, Monday, Dec. 21, 2015, followed by a service at noon, both at First Presbyterian Church, 101 N. Prairie St., Galesburg, with the Rev. Shawn Smith officiating.  A luncheon will follow the service at the church.  Private family burial will follow the luncheon at Memorial Park Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church.

Frances J. Elliott

Frances J. Elliott, age 88, of Monmouth, Illinois, passed away at 12:14 pm on Friday, December 18, 2015 at Monmouth Nursing Home.  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Immaculate Conception Church in Monmouth.  The Rosary will be recited at 4:00 pm on Monday, December 21 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth.  Family will be present for visitation after the Rosary until 7:00 pm.  A full obituary will be published in the next edition.  Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth is in charge of arrangments.

Betty Louise Swanson

Mrs. Betty Louise Swanson, 80, of Cameron, Illinois died at 12:15 am Friday, December 18, 2015 in Seminary Manor.

She was born January 4, 1935 in Galesburg, Illinois the daughter of Herbert L. and Marguerite V. Anderson Peterson. She married Benjamin Miles Swanson on March 4, 1955 in Cameron. He preceded her in death on December 22, 2009.

She is survived by her daughter, Jane (and Gary) Spence of Monmouth; her sister, Susie Edmund of Woodhull, Illinois; her daughter-in-law, Kristine Swanson of Cameron, and three grandchildren, Megan (and Sam) Sarver of Green Bay, Wisconsin, Tracy (and Andy Engstrom of Abingdon, Illinois and Bryan (and Jackie) Spence of Monmouth; four great grandchildren, Reagan, Jackson and Colton Spence and Addison Engstrom. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her son, Jeffrey Swanson on September 10, 2006.

Betty was a homemaker. She was a member of the Coldbrook Christian Church and had lived in Coldbrook Township all her life.

James Kenneth “Dave” Powell

James Kenneth “Dave” Powell, 82, of Galesburg, died at 7:50 a.m. Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at home.

He was born January 10, 1933 in Cave City, Kentucky, the son of Kenneth Paul and Mary Elizabeth (Fitzpatrick) Powell.  He married Beverly Jean Snyder on December 28, 1952 in Alexis, Illinois.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 63 years, Beverly; a daughter, Cherie J. (and Dennis) Meyer of Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri; two granddaughters, Melissa (and Michael) Weber of Dayton, Ohio and Malinda (and Christoffer) Tidwell of Clovis, New Mexico; and a sister, Della Evans of Munfordville, Kentucky.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws, Nyle and Lola Snyder; and a sister, Nora Nunn.

Dave was a fireman for the Burlington Northern Railroad for 10 years.  He then went to Wagoner Printing, where he was an offset pressman for 30 years, retiring in February of 1995.  After retirement, Dave and Bev enjoyed several winters in Florida in their motorhome.  Dave was a basketball and football official in the area for more than 20 years.  He was a member of the Galesburg Official’s Association and was inducted into their Hall of Fame in 2014.  Dave was a marathon runner, running the Boston Marathon in 1981.  His name was listed in Runner’s World Magazine. 

Dave served in the United States Army for two years, where he was stationed at the Dugway Proving Ground in Tooele, Utah.  He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285, and V.F. W. Post 2257. 


As Dave requested, cremation will be accorded.  Visitation will be 12:30 to 2 p.m. Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel.  Memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Len Hoffmann officiating.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or the Galesburg Rescue Mission.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
